Talking Mats Training Day – Newcastle, 20 May
PRESS RELEASE FROM TALKING MATS
Talking Mats is coming to Newcastle, with a full day’s practical training on Tuesday 20th May 2014. The course will be held at The CastleGate, Melbourne Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2JQ and will run from 9:30am to 4:15pm.
- Coffee on arrival at 9:15am. Lunch is included in the cost.
- Morning session will provide background information, hands-on experience of using Talking Mats and some film footage of people using Talking Mats.
- Afternoon session will focus on using Talking Mats in real life situations and planning how to develop its use in participants’ own work environment.
This course is open to anyone who is interested in improving communication. Participants at previous courses have included Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Nurses, Advocacy Workers, Service Planners, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Care Workers, Rehabilitation Assistants, Teachers, Researchers, Psychologists, and Careers Advisors.
