A Regional Communication Aid Service: From pilot to ongoing service

Personal experience
  • Sue Lord

A Regional service providing communication and computer access technology has been in its pilot phase over the last year in the North West of England. Last year we reported on how the service has been designed and funded. One year later we are reviewing our progress and looking to the long term future of the service.

The pilot project for provision of communication and computer access support has now been in place for a year with 40 service users taken on in this period. The service model has continued to develop over this period and we expect to serve a larger number of service users over the coming year. This presentation will bring colleagues up to date with the project progression as well as long-term plans for future funding streams.
