Communication Matters is leading a groundbreaking project that will produce fundamental evidence of the need for, and provision of, AAC which can be used to improve services across the UK. The project will create an online AAC Evidence Base which will make current knowledge about AAC available to all. Communication Matters’ research partners are: the University of Sheffield, Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Manchester Metropolitan University.
The three-year project started in 2010 and is funded by The National Lottery through Big Lottery Fund. In this session there will be overview of the project and the University of Sheffield and Barnsley Hospital will report on the progress of their research into evidence of need and current service provision.
