Congratulations to Toby Churchill Ltd for being awarded a 2011 Queen's Award for Enterprise, in the International Sales category for the Lightwriter communication aid.
Toby Churchill Ltd are pleased to announce that Her Majesty The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve the Prime Minister’s recommendation that a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category should be conferred upon this business that manufactures communication aids for people with little or no ability to speak.
This is the third time the company has received the award since it was established by Toby Churchill, himself a user of communication aids.
David Collison, Chairman and owner of Toby Churchill Ltd stated “Four years ago it was a great honour to take over the company that Toby Churchill, himself, had started in 1973. I am delighted that we have this public recognition of the great work that Toby commenced, which I now carry on through my stewardship."
During its 38 year history, Toby Churchill Ltd has designed and manufactured Lightwriters, its flagship product, to over 100,000 people across the world; people who would otherwise not be able to communicate. It recently celebrated record results; with sales topping the £3.8 million mark of £2.9 million was for exports.
The company currently employs 35 people at its factory in Over, Cambridgeshire.
