Population served
All ages (children and adults), all abilities/disabilities requiring specialist AAC intervention.

Services provided
We work closely with the Health and Social Care Trusts where the person is resident.
Assessments are carried out over several appointments in close liaison with the client and their relevant team.
Equipment Bank – We have a wide range of AAC systems in our loan bank of equipment which are used for assessment.
In some circumstances we also provide AAC equipment for individuals on a long term basis.

We have a multidisciplinary team with SLT, OT and Technical support.

Referral process
The Communication Advice Centre service is integrated with Speech and Language Therapy services across N. Ireland. Therefore all referrals must come via the client’s Speech and Language Therapist. The client and their multidisciplinary team are fully involved in any intervention.
