Finding My Voice

Sunday Plenary
Personal Experience
  • Lee Ridley

Lee Ridley has no speech but is not silent. Described as "a wonderful comedian" by Little Britain's Matt Lucas, he is (probably) the first stand up comedian to use a communication aid. Living with cerebral palsy since he was young, Lee uses both a Lightwriter and iPad to speak. As well as having a career in journalism, Lee also appears on the UK comedy circuit as 'Lost Voice Guy'. He'll be the first to admit that these were pretty weird career choices for someone who struggles to communicate.

Lee will talk about how he has used AAC to follow his dreams and overcome the challenges that have faced him along the way. Already featured on BBC, CNN, Sky and ITV, this guy will leave you speechless...
