Session

Summary

The SpeechBubble website will provide an independent online information point containing details of the majority of communication aids available in the UK, along with their associated software and vocabulary features. Its aim is to enable therapists, parents, carers and communication aid users to compare and contrast the key features of these aids, provide an insight into how they can be operated, and make sense of the wide variety of communication software.

It is hoped that SpeechBubble will be utilised as a professional resource, assessment support tool and teaching aid, and will give all those involved in the decision-making process the reassurance that all the options have been considered.

The session will introduce the website and outline its capabilities and limitations. The development of the site will be covered, along with plans for developing sustainability. Feedback will be welcomed for consideration in future development.
