Session 4.2b

Location: Room 2 (John Foster)   Date: 27th Monday 2010    Time: 14:30 - 16:00

Summary

This presentation is focused on a case study of a lady with a long-standing progressive condition. She has no functional speech and very limited movements. She uses a MegaBee to communicate through a combination of eye pointing and some verbal feedback. The presentation outlines the background work that was carried out prior to the installation of an Environmental Control. This practise and preparation enabled the client to have a successful introduction to this new system. The initial cost of staffing time must be balanced against the ultimate effective use of the system and the value to the client.
