Summary

This session will provide an overview of how we have established joint working practices, joint funding and a joint policy between Health and Education for the provision of access technology aids for children and young people in County Durham.

We will examine the whys, hows, whats and outcomes of our services working together. Participants will gain knowledge of the advantages, pitfalls and practicalities of working as a multi agency team.

We will present the pathway of service delivery for the provision of AAC within County Durham. We will share our procedures and provide examples of advice leaflets which support our approach to AAC. We will provide opportunities to discuss thoughts, ideas and experiences about this process and possible future developments.
