Summary

1Voice is a charity providing a network of support for children who use AAC, and their families. This presentation will provide attendees with information about how the 1Voice West Midlands branch was created, from the first exploratory email asking for volunteers to establish a committee, through to our spooky Halloween launch event. Practicalities such as setting up the bank account, CRB checks, risk assessments and fundraising ideas will also be discussed.

Creative ideas for 1Voice events will be presented alongside event photographs, in the hope that other branches may be developed. The support available from the national charity will be emphasised, along with our vision to extend our group to meet the needs of adults who use AAC and their families.

This session will be jointly presented by 1Voice West Midlands Committee members, including people who use AAC.
