  • Anna Reeves
Summary

Anna has been the Manager of ACE Centre North since 1996 and has overseen its transition from being a service within Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council to its establishment and recognition as a charitable company providing AAC services across the North of England, working closely with individuals, schools, PCTs and local authorities to develop AAC provision and expertise.

She was significantly involved in the development and delivery of the Communication Aids Project (CAP) from 2002 - 2006, and more recently she contributed to the AAC Focus Group for the Bercow Review. This resulted in the ‘Better Communication’ Action Plan, which was co-produced by the Dept for Education and Dept of Health and led to her appointment as the national AAC coordinator to support the work of the Communication Champion in England.

Anna has been a trustee of Communication Matters since September 2005 and has chaired the funding and finance sub-group. Anna’s international experience has included supporting the establishment and development of AAC services in Malaysia. Previously, Anna was a teacher in mainstream and special schools for nine years.
