How to subscribe

Follow these instructions to subscribe to the AAC Forum. You will then be able to read the posts on a web page, receive the messages posted to the group by email, or post messages to the group by email:

  1. Send a blank email to [email protected].
  2. You will receive an email from Google asking you to complete the request – click on the button ‘Join this Group’ in the email.
  3. Your browser will open and display a Google page asking you to sign in. If you already have a Google account, sign in as usual. If you do not have a Google account, click on the ‘Sign up’ button at the top right to create an account. You will then receive an email from Google to verify your account.
  4. You can now go to the AAC Forum home web page to read previous posts or post to the group. You can also post a message to the group by sending an email to [email protected].

Guidelines for Posting in the AAC Forum

  • The purpose of this email group is for people to share experiences and information about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The views and opinions expressed are those of individuals and do not represent the views of Communication Matters.
  • This Forum must not be used for advertising or promoting goods or services; please send such notices to the office, with a request to include them in the Friday Announcements.
  • Neither the Forum nor the Friday Announcements may be used for the direct buying or selling of new or used equipment.
  • Any messages to this Forum should include your name, job title and employer (where appropriate). If you are seeking help or advice, please include your approximate location, as advice may differ depending on where you are living.

Although this group is not actively moderated, Communication Matters reserves the right to remove messages that are considered offensive, libellous, or do follow the above guidelines. We welcome discussion, but Forum users must not post information identifying individuals, companies or services. CM also reserves the right to remove members who breach the guidelines.
