Established for almost 40 years, Toby Churchill Ltd has designed and manufactured the Lightwriter® text to speech communication aid. Always with the needs of the communication aid user in mind, Toby Churchill Ltd seeks to be able to use its in-house developed hardware and software to provide ways to improve the delivery of synthesised speech and widen the scope of communication with compact, reliable and robust devices.

• Lightwriters: The Lightwriter® SL40 series learns styles of communication, suggesting words that are expressed within the communication of the user. The product also utilises a pre-stored and editable phrase list, giving quick access to key phrases when required. With the use of the dedicated inbuilt mobile phone technology, the user is now able to send SMS text messages or even make a telephone call using the Acapela voices, available in several languages.
• Rolltalk: The Rolltalk communication system from Abilia is available exclusively from Toby Churchill in the UK. Compact Rolltalk is a multifunctional communication aid which can also control your environment, send SMS text messages, emails and access the internet. Settings are highly adaptable to suit your own personal requirements.
• VocaFlex: The Vocaflex is a symbol-based digital recording aid, providing high quality digitised speech in a compact, easy-to-use device. It has user friendly, easy to change overlays and is extremely portable.
• Voice Amplifiers: Toby Churchill has an expanding selection of voice amplifiers, designed to a very high specification. They are all simple to use, and feature lightweight designs. There are now several microphone options available that allow for the needs of any given user.
• Cognitive Products: Toby Churchill Ltd has recently expanded its range of cognitive products. From wall-mounted to hand-held devices; these products are designed for people who have difficulty managing time. Visual and spoken indicators help structure the day’s activities and can remind the user through a selection of methods such as alarms, text messages, lights and images.
