Madhouse Software Productions Ltd researches, develops and retails Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT), in particular, software applications aimed to assist severely physically disabled (children and adults) and elderly members of society.
Products include:
- Vocally Dialler is a hardware device that converts your standard telephone system into a voice recognition dialling system. Just pick up the hand receiver, or with a hands free telephone just push the button and the Vocally Dialler will ask you who you wish to call. Two versions available, the Freedom with 60 names are available, or with the Infinity, 40 names but in addition it will let you speak the telephone number direct.
- Just Talk (JT) is an AAC application but unlike other AAC, whereby a set of 100 items would enable the user to do 100 activities, e.g. speak or change the screen interface, JT with its selection method like USE, enables 100 items to become up to 2500 activities, 500 of which are independently selectable. Input devices include, 1 to 4 switch(es), Mouse button as switches, USB switch Box, PS2 Switch Box, Keyboard keys as switches, Barnsley Hospital Standard and Direct Selection with touch screen or mouse.
- Ultimate Switching Environment (USE) is an EAT application which has four principle functions, 'Speech Aid', 'Environment Control', 'Keyboard Emulator', and 'Computer Mouse Controller'. Unlike other Assistive Technology, whereby a set of 100 items would enable the user to do 100 activities, USE with its new selection method enables 100 items to become up to 2500 activities, 500 of which are independently selectable. - Virtual Keyboard is an on screen keyboard with easily changeable interfaces. This AT has been designed and developed to suit the needs of individuals with reading, writing or motor impairments, and has been shown to increase the text output productivity of such individuals by 8.9 % when in scanning mode for a single switch user, on a standard QWERTY keyboard.
- Switch Questionnaire Interface (SQI) is a research aid that specifically helps researchers obtain clear and definite data from minority groups such as Switch based user's, non-vocal individuals, those with reading difficulties and/or those who are blind or partially sighted. SQI has been designed specifically to remove third party intervention and to empower the individual by enabling them to make their opinions known.
