Chatting Independently runs a residential rehabilitation centre in the market town of March, Cambridgeshire. The centre provides physio and hydrotherapy, speech and language therapy, specialist seating and independent living skills to young people mainly 18-25 years old, although we can take up to 65 years, who have a physical disability and use various forms of communication aid systems.
We believe independence is being free from the control of others or by others and gain the confidence to ask for a hand to do whatever activities they wish to do. Our residents receive a £40 food budget every week to go out with their 1 to 1 facilitator to the supermarkets, buy what food they would like and return to advise on its preparation. Residents spend 3-5 years learning their independent living skills and move on to supported living in smaller properties.
