Thousands of children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) every year and more than half are unable to verbally communicate their needs, desires, thoughts or dreams.

The mission of the Center for AAC & Autism UK is to improve awareness of the power of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) devices to change the lives of children who are non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities due to autism and other developmental disabilities.

The Center for AAC & Autism UK is staffed by a team of highly experienced speech-language therapists and assistive technology experts who believe that AAC offers these children a viable method of independently and spontaneously expressing themselves in any setting.

The Center provides therapists, educators and parents with specialised training on proven language development strategies in AAC... empowers them with information, tools and additional resources... and supports clinical research aimed at effective implementation of AAC within the autism arena.

Products include:
  • Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) Training
  • AAC and Autism Resources
  • Clinical AAC Research
