In April 2012, the Department for Education awarded a Grant for a Project looking at AAC Services throughout England. The aim of the project was to assist in the transition to new commissioning arrangements, and towards the hub and spoke model of service delivery. A concerted approach was adopted by each Region, all agreeing to work on the same Objectives, ensuring integration and equity of provision.
This presentation will be given by the Consortium Leads for each Region:
- North Region – Anna is Manager of the ACE Centre, and has also been working on a part time basis on behalf of the DfE in the role of AAC Coordinator (E: [email protected])
- Midlands & East Midlands – Clive Thursfield is a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Lead Clinician for Access to Communication and Technology, a regionally funded service for the West Midlands (E: [email protected])
